Letter from the Board President

Fellow Quakers!!

Thank you for continuing to support the Alumni Association efforts to support the students at Franklin.

This year we have defined our mission as the “Year of Engagement”—to be more visible and hands-on, attending activities that the students and faculty create. We are also developing a strong relationship with the PTSA. Through these activities we feel we can get a better understanding of what the school needs and build relationships with faculty and staff, all in the service of the students.

We continue to support the athletic department, (see page _), the students-in-need project, the Good Foot (sexual health education, from the Alexander grant, see page _), engage in the ongoing saga of getting the reader board fixed (see page _), and were able to purchase a soundboard for the media class (See page _). These were accomplished because of your support.

We continue to host activities for alumni to come together, reminisce, and find fellowship.  See “Coming Home” (page _) and Hall of Fame (page _).  We also provide support for those organizing reunions in the form of sharing our database contacts and providing a presence at reunion events.

We have increased the number of scholarships we give to graduating seniors and are always looking for new ideas for possible scholarships.

We would love to increase our capacity to support Franklin! If you have time or expertise in advertising, finance, public relations, grant writing, or can support us through your presence at our various activities—PLEASE join us.  It is very rewarding… And, frankly, just plain fun.

As always Quaker Love, Your President,

Deborah, ‘67
